Improving your SEO can take time and patience that many of us don’t have. Luckily, you have come to the right place. These link building strategies are the answer for those of us who are less virtuous and like fast results.

Here is a list of link building strategies (in no particular order) that are easy to execute and can have a positive impact on your SEO strategy.

  1. Ask a Buddy for a Link

I know this one seems obvious, but sometimes the easiest answers are overlooked. In this day and age everyone knows someone with a website or a blog. All you have to do is ask.
  2. Profile Links

Most websites that you have to sign up for will give you a link in your profile. This is not true of all websites. But hey, it’s more than worth it to find the websites that do.
  3. Testimonials

“Big Bob’s plumbing fixed my sink right up and was very affordable!” – John Doe. That’s all it takes. What services or products have you bought recently? The big boys like Target or Costco won’t be giving you links, but more modest businesses’ will likely exchange a link for a valuable testimonial.
  4. Contests and Giveaways

This is a no brainer. You have a chance to win free stuff and acquire links! Enter as much as you can! Check out some blogs and see if they have any guest blogging contests.
  5. Blogging

Live blogging about industry events can lead to some needed attention. Even blogging after the fact can really help you. And imagine if you are the only one blogging out this information? The links will smother you.
  6. Blog Directories

If you can execute number 5 than I assume you have a blog. Submit your blog to a blog directory for some linkage.
  7. Podcast

Same principle as number 6. Do you have a podcast? Submit it to a podcast directory and acquire a few quick and easy links.
  8. Company Directory Submissions

Submit your website to a general company directory. You don’t even really need a company. All you need is a website.
  9. User Rating Reviews

Write about a product you liked or hated. Have fun, be creative, and get yourself some links in the process. Viewpoints, Yahoo shopping, and Bizrate are examples of sites that will give you links for your opinions.
  10. Organizations and Associations

I’m sure you are pretty popular, right? If you are a member of an association or organization, the odds are that they have a website. Ask them if they link out to their members. And if they don’t, implore them to make an exception for you.
